TBG is proud to help announce the launch of the Irv Brown Champions Center today, on Irv Brown Day (Irv’s birthday coincidentally!).
Irv Brown was an athlete, coach, teacher, referee and broadcaster and was inducted into the Jeffco Sports Hall of Fame in 1989, the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame in 1997, and the Colorado HS Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003. The Irv Brown Champions Center gives educational legs to his outstanding legacy and will provide opportunities for disadvantaged students.
The Irv Brown Champions Center at Arvada High School will be the home and heartbeat of the Irv Brown Sports Leadership Academy (IBSLA) and serve as a “Magnet School” for the metro region. This educational nonprofit will keep Brown’s spirit alive through a sports-thematic curriculum sparking student learning, sports-industry career exploration and coaching for success in life.
Mile High Sports offers a touching perspective here and says that as great as Irv was at officiating, broadcasting, business – well, you name it, really – he was best at connecting people. He genuinely cared about helping others achieve what they wanted to achieve.
