Denver resident, Lawrence Cowan, recently celebrated his 100th birthday and was happy to tell his story to Bill Porter from The Denver Post. He cowboyed, competed as a bareback bronco rider in rodeos, did a bit of mining, joined the Army in 1941 despite his asthma, then spent the rest of his working life as a long-haul trucker. Cowan still lives in the southwest Denver house he bought with his late wife, Bertha, in 1955 and he now regularly attends the nearby Johnson Adult Day Program (JAPD) to mingle with other seniors.
