It’s not everyday that you receive a kudos letter from the President of the United States. So it was recently when our team was finalizing preparations to launch the Campaign to End Childhood Hunger, led by Governor Bill Ritter, Lt. Governor Barbara O’Brien, Senator Michael Bennet and many of Colorado’s leading nonprofit organizations, businesses and governmental entities.
The Governor announced his goal of ending hunger in our state by 2015 during a news conference at Place Bridge Academy in southeast Denver. Before signing the executive order, Governor Ritter invited middle school student Miguel Hernandez to the lectern to read a special letter. Miguel wowed the crowd as he read President Obama’s kind note lauding Colorado for it’s
vision.
