TUCC symposium reaches 200 primary care providers

On Oct. 18, The Urology Center of Colorado (TUCC) held its 5th annual State-of-the-Art Symposium, a full day of continuing medical education for primary care medical providers in the region.

This year’s symposium was titled, “Here Comes the Boom: Geriatric Medicine and Evolving Health Care Technology.” It was held at the PPA Event Center near Sports Authority Field, and it attracted approximately 200 primary care providers.

TUCC partnered with other specialty practices, including Rocky Mountain Gastroenterology, Colorado Heart and Vascular, and Surgical Specialists of Colorado, to offer a variety of interactive presentations ranging in topic from mobile technology and health care to nutrition and supplements. The University of Michigan’s Dr. Mark Moyad, a preventive and complementary medicine specialist, gave the keynote address. The symposium concluded with a special presentation from COPIC on the do’s and don’ts of social media in health care.

Primary care providers in attendance received eight continuing medical education credits, eight continuing nursing education credits, 7.5 American Academy of Family Practice hours and two COPIC ERS points.

The Bawmann Group helped TUCC create the event in 2010, and every year TBG is in charge of the following aspects of the symposium: brand development; collateral; marketing; presentation review and editing; development of all attendee print and electronic handouts; onsite signage; and day-of-event logistics.
